NetJets commits US$5b for up to 250 Praetor 500 private jets

Market leader of fractional ownership programs, NetJets, have inked a deal with manufacture Embraer for the purchase of up to 250 Praetor 500 mid-size aircraft.

The deal, estimated to be worth over $5B USD also includes a comprehensive services and support program.

Deliveries are expected to commence from 2025.

NetJets are one of the largest operators of the light Phenom 300 private jet with over 100 in operation or on order.

What makes the Praetor 500 so appealing

The Praetor family swooped into the market providing new-found range capabilities while maintaining the high-end and practical cabin layout, advanced systems and operating efficiency.

The Praetor 500 has a maximum range of 3,340 nautical miles. This, therefore, allows the Praetor 500 to cruise non-stop from New York to London or London to Dubai.

The Praetor also cruises 20 knots faster than it’s closest competitor, the Challenger 350.

Another major benefit is the Praetor 500 burns 81 gallons LESS than the Challenger 350, enabling lower emissions and reduced variable operating cost per hour.

Seeing that the Phenom 300 was the most sold light jet, it will be interesting to see if the Praetor can be as great of a success story in the mid-size market.
